Tax, Customs & Duties

We take pride in delivering your custom-made suits with the utmost care and efficiency, no matter where you are in the world. We handle the shipping costs, ensuring that your order reaches you safely. However, when it comes to taxes, customs, and duties, here’s what you need to know to make sure there are no surprises when your package arrives.

What to Expect
Since we ship internationally, your order may be subject to local taxes, customs fees, and duties based on your country’s regulations. These are costs that are outside of our control and are determined by your country’s authorities. Please note, we do not add these charges at checkout, but you’ll be responsible for paying them directly when you collect your package.

Here’s how it works:

  • Taxes/VAT: We do not charge VAT during checkout as your order is considered an export. However, your country’s tax laws may require you to pay VAT when your order arrives. This is usually paid directly to the courier when you receive your package.

  • Customs Fees & Duties: Similar to VAT, customs duties depend on the regulations of your country. You may need to pay these fees when picking up your order. The specific amounts will vary based on the value of your suit and the customs laws in place in your country.

  • Shipping Costs: We take care of all the shipping costs to deliver your suit to your doorstep – no hidden fees from us. You only need to cover the local taxes, duties, and any customs fees once your order reaches your country.

Examples of Expected Costs

To give you an idea of what to expect, here are a few examples of the taxes and customs fees that may apply to shipments to different regions:

  • Germany (EU):

    • VAT: 19%

    • Customs Duties: Clothing over 150 EUR is subject to a duty of approximately 12%

    • Example: If your suit costs 500 EUR, the estimated fees would be:

      • VAT: 95 EUR (19% of 500 EUR)

      • Customs Duty: 60 EUR (12% of 500 EUR)

      • Total additional cost: 155 EUR

    United States:

    • VAT: Not applicable (U.S. does not charge VAT, but state sales tax may apply).

    • Customs Duties: Goods valued under $800 USD are duty-free under the de minimis rule.

    • Sales Tax: Varies by state, typically between 4% and 10%.

    • Example: A suit valued at $600 USD:

      • Customs Duty: $0 USD (since it falls under the $800 de minimis threshold)

      • Sales Tax: Estimated between $24 and $60 USD (assuming 4-10% of $600 USD, depending on the state)

      • Total additional cost: Between $24 and $60 USD

    Australia:

    • GST (Goods and Services Tax): 10%

    • Customs Duties: Clothing imports are duty-free under $1,000 AUD, but GST still applies.

    • Example: A suit costing 500 AUD may incur a GST charge of 50 AUD (10% of 500 AUD).

Important Note: These are general guidelines and the actual fees may vary depending on your specific situation, such as the value of the suit or changes in local customs regulations. We recommend checking with your local customs office or courier for the most accurate information before ordering.
